Week 7: Let’s Talk School - School Events - Field Trip to Thailand Science Park

Can’t wait, can’t wait! Guess what? Today we are going to Thailand Science Park for Science Film Festival! Have you ever heard of it?

Thailand Science Park is located in north of Bangkok and is home of four national research centers: BIOTEC, MTEC, NECTEC, NANOTEC and one technology management center TMC.

We feel very lucky that our school is located next to this park and we get invited every year to watch latest science movies.
And today is also one of those fun days! Science Park has invited us to watch two science movies. The main fun thing about this is that you get to learn a lot of new things and at the end of each movie the organizers will ask you some questions!

We started off at 12:30 pm, sat in the van and arrived at Thailand Science Park in a few minutes! As soon as we arrived there we went upstairs to the auditorium. All of us took our seats and got ready to watch the first science movie! As always it just felt like we were in the cinema!

Our first video was about Star Stuff! In this short video there was a boy who wanted to know more about space and stars but he could not! And then, suddenly his mom entered the room and told him to come with her! Guess what happened? His mom brought him to the library! There he found a book named “Secrets of the Stars” by Inez N. From that book he really discovered a lot of things about stars!

After the video ended they asked us some questions. This was my best time! I did answer some questions for which I got small gifts!

The second video was about Life Science. The title of the video was “Wild Germany- The Chiemsee.” This video was really, really interesting! I learned many new things such as when ants get flooded they arrange themselves in the shape of a boat and float away. At the end of this video we had games again. First they asked us some questions related to the video. Then we were divided into five groups and we had to draw an ecosystem which was really fun!

Finally, this amazing trip ended and we went back to school wishing we could have more chances to watch science movies with our classmates. But we can’t as we are the senior most class and we will move to another school next year.

How badly we wish our school gets upgraded to high school!
